New Carpet Feels Sticky

In severe cases the carpet will feel sticky and the problem will be very obvious.
New carpet feels sticky. This is the strongest possibility. Once the relative humidity gets above about 40 percent the static problem disappears. There are a few possibilities ranging from the installer spilled something which i don t think so since the sticky would be localized or to coming that way from the factory. More than likely it s that the vinegar dissolves the acidic crystals in the puppy s urine and leaves the residue making the carpet sticky.
I ve rinsed the carpet for hours with warm clear water a solution of half vinegar and warm water and a mix of baking soda vinegar and warm water. Proper carpet shampooing techniques can prevent detergent residue but if it does occur you can remove it so your carpet is truly clean. I just never seem to get the stickiness out. If the amount of adhesive left behind is relatively small you may not even know it s there until weeks or months after removing the film.
Putting something on it and letting it soak can void any warranty or possible worse delaminate the carpet from the backing. First if new carpet is to be installed schedule it as late into the project as possible.
