Jute Rugs That Don T Shed
A great rug can make a room but not every rug is sturdy enough for the day to day traffic in your home.
Jute rugs that don t shed. I decided to head to west elm pottery barn and world market to. Rugs made from natural plant fibers shed all the time i know from experience. I wanted a soft rug that wouldn t shed too much which isn t the easiest type of jute to find. Because of this with jute rugs i m more diligent about vacuuming under the edges than i am with other types of rugs.
You can also use a rug pad to help minimize the wear and tear. A rug that sheds adds up to more housework and can leave fibers on clothing. Ours was primarily jute. I still love it and it really doesn t get much wear and is holding up nicely.
We bought it at rugsusa. What i don t like about it is that even though i put the rug pad under it you know that white thing that is supposed to keep it in place it really doesn t work all. If less shedding is a priority search for a rug with a flat or woven weave. If you like the rug go for it but don t expect to get more than a handful of years out of it.
I loved the painted perimeter a very wide charcoal stripe with a narrow clay orange colored stripe just inside the charcoal. Also avoid plant fiber rugs like jute sisal and nettle. I ve had jute rugs that shed quite a bit of debris once i called the seller to return it because it was shedding so much crap i was convinced it was a used rug and others that don t shed much at all. The west elm jute rug sheds a decent amount which isn t ideal with darker floors.
We just removed our 9 x 12 jute rug from the den after about 2 1 2 years.
